Students of College of Fisheries (MPUAT) celebrating the three day Ganpati Sthapna performed the Ganpati Visarjan today with an eco-friendly twist at Dhoodtalai and Pichola.

This was done to create awareness among the people to celebrate the festivals by being environment considerate.

Dr. B.K. Sharma, Program Officer of National Service Scheme appealed to the citizens and lake lovers of Udaipur to opt for an eco- friendly visarjan. He informed that the colors used in the Ganesh idols blend in the water, thereby polluting the water of the lakes. He insisted everyone to perform the visarjan in a plastic pool or a cement tank.

On this occasion, Professor Vimal Sharma, Dean of College of Fisheries, told that the students along with their regular studies celebrated the three day event. They performed the prayers before the class and in the evening and celebrated with much faith and zeal.

Media in charge Subodh Sharma appreciated and welcomed this initiative.
