The thought precisely reflects with the characteristics of a writer and theater director Rizwan Zaheer Usman of Udaipur who wishes to live till he completes writing a story.

Rizwan Zaheer Usman, known as Usman Sir by dozens of his fans, students and many theatre artists is suffering from a fatal kidney problem and undergoes weekly dialysis.

An artist who has served for 45 years writing and directing hundreds of stories, plays and honored with the Life Time Achievement Award by the Sangeet Natak Akadami and Devi Lal Samar Natya Puruskar from Rajasthan Sangeet Natya Akadami is now in an unfortunate and miserable state of life.

It was during his early years in life, while working for his father’s transport company, that Usman Sahab developed an undying love for reading. During his many trips across the country whilst working with the transport company, he used to read articles, journals and newspapers as and when he used to get time.

Years ago, after he developed the kidney ailment and was undergoing hospitalization, a nurse at the hospital inspired him to translate his love for reading into writing, whereby he could express his feelings in a better manner.

Over the years, his writings have translated into plays and books. His 50 plays have seen over 150 play acts till date. There was never a dearth of awards or recognitions for Usman Sir He has worked on approximately 18 educative playacts with the purpose of augmenting the love for literacy among the general public. He has been instrumental in training over 3,000 artists in play acting and theatre.

Coming back to the present, Rizwan Zaheer Usman is under tremendous agony physically and in an extremely tight financial position. In spite of this, the spirit of life is still alive in Usman Sahab and he is undergoing the rigors of weekly dialysis. To highlight the plight of such well-known and respected artist and to enhance support towards his treatment, an evening of playacting “The Dialysis, to purify the things” on the occasion of World Theatre Day on 27th March has been organized by Karmashram, The Manager, Naadbrahma, and Aashray the theater artist’s groups that supports Usman Sahab, The venue will be the Sukhadia Rangmanch (Town Hall) and the play act will be based on the play “Court Marshall”.

The collections made during the evening will be donated to the cause of Rizwan Zaheer Usman’s treatment.
