Thousands of Devotees Gathered For Chhath Puja
The Chhath Puja is being performed today in Udaipur to give gratitude to Sun God for prolonging life on Earth and conceding wishes. On the bank of Lake Fateh Sagar this early morning more than 1000 people gathered and performed prayers. Chhath Puja was organized by the Bihar Samaj Samiti under the leadership of Sanjiv Dishila, President of the Organization.

Chhath Puja is celebrated as one of the biggest festival mainly in Northeastern parts of India on Kartik Shukala Shashti, sixth day of the Kartik month. Chhath is a 4 days festival and each day has its own importance.
From last 18 years Chhath Puja is being celebrated in Udaipur. There are approximately 50,000 North Eastern people living in Udaipur.
In Hindu mythology, Surya (The Sun) is considered as God of energy and life-strength. It is strongly believed that Sun can cure many diseases and guarantees endurance and opulence of family members and elders.
Mr. Thakur hails from Bihar and is working as building contractor in Udaipur said, “Chhath Pujan fulfills the wishes of devotees.”
