Top Space Scientists Gather in Jaipur for ASI Symposium
NASA (USA), Max Planck Institute (Germany), Polish Academy of Sciences, ISRO, PRL, IUCAA, IIA, ARIES, IITs and NITs are taking part in the 3-day symposium at JECRC University
Udaipur, Sept 9, 2025 - A three-day national symposium is being organised by the Astronomical Society of India (ASI) at JECRC University, Jaipur, from today, September 8. The topic of the meet is "Cosmic Vision 2047: Studying the Dynamics of the Sun and Planets through Observations, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning."
The event will see the presence of top space scientists, young researchers and international experts and more than 85 scientific presentations will be made, including 27 invited lectures and research paper presentations.
Renowned international organisations such as NASA (USA), the Max Planck Institute (Germany) and the Polish Academy of Sciences, as well as major Indian institutions like ISRO, PRL, IUCAA, IIA, ARIES, IITs, and NITs, will participate in the symposium.

Tomorrow, on September 9, an interactive session will be held for students under the theme "Astronomy for All: Inspiring Young Minds and Career Pathways." Around 200 students from various schools will participate. The session will include lectures, quizzes and career guidance, providing a rare opportunity for students to interact with experts from NASA, ISRO, PRL and IUCAA.
Prof. Bhuvan Joshi, senior scientist at PRL and chair of the Scientific Organising Committee, said that the symposium will include reviews and new findings on current missions like Aditya L-1, Chandrayaan-2, Chandrayaan-3 and NASA’s lunar programmes. He added that space weather — generated by solar activity — has become a critical area of research.
Prof. Devendra Kumar Ojha shared that the event aims to engage and inform young people about the wonders of space science.
