Women from the city were seen flocking to temples early in the morning, on the occasion of Sheetla Saptmi. Goddess Sheetla Mata is worshipped by female devotees on this day.

Sheetla Saptmai, traditionally known as Chaitra Krishna Saptmi is a day when women folk observe fast and worship Goddess Sheetla Mata for the health and prosperity of the family.

Cold food is served today to family members as tradition and women break their fast with cold food as well.

Ashtmi which will be celebrated tomorrow will see the celebration of color.  Ashtmi is celebrated as mini-Holi in many parts of the state.
