January 2020 may see a Mass Rally by the Congress at Udaipur.  Priyanka Gandhi is expected to power this jamboree.

Sometime before the Lok Sabha elections in 2019, the BJP had taken a mass hit during the assembly elections held in Rajasthan, Chhatisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.  This had tilted the balance in favor of the Congress party, after voters had expressed dissatisfaction with the kind of autocratic actions taken by the BJP, vi.z Demonetisation, GST, etc.  The Pulwama attack followed by other pre-election promises and gimmicks tilted the favour once again in the favor of BJP across the nation, and even in the above mentioned states, the voters of whom, just a few months ago had expressed their dissatisfaction with the ruling BJP.

This month, once again, the results of the Vidhan Sabha elections in Haryana and Maharashtra,reflected a similar situation, and the performance of the leaderless Congress was much better than anticipated.

Motivated by this performance the Congress leadership team is contemplating holding the All India Congress Committee session in Udaipur.  Informaion obtained from party insiders suggest that the Rajasthan unit is toying with the idea of holding the mass rally in Udaipur in January 2020.

As per media reports, Sonia Gandhi has recently constituted a committe to sharpen the partys ideology on key socio-economic reforms and political issues.  Priyanka Gandhi Varda is a part of the panel and is reportedly involved in brain storming to come up with substantial practical suggestions.
