Udaipur Bird Festival 2026: Preparations Reviewed

Udaipur, Dec 23 - Preparations for the 12th edition of the Udaipur Bird Festival 2026 were reviewed in a coordination meeting held on Monday (December 22) in the conference hall of Van Bhavan, Udaipur. The meeting was chaired by Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) SR Yadav.

Deputy Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Yadvendra Singh Chundawat informed that the popular festival will be held from January 15 to January 18, 2026. During the meeting, responsibilities and planned activities were discussed with team leaders and members assigned to various festival events. Yadav called upon all stakeholders to actively participate to ensure the grand success of the festival.

The meeting was attended by DCF Shaitan Singh Devda, Assistant Conservator Surbhi Sharma, retired forest officer Satish Sharma, WWF representative Arun Soni, wildlife enthusiasts Devendra Shrimali, Darshan Menaria, Umesh Menaria, Devendra Mistry, Pushpa Khamesra and others.

Festival Schedule Highlights

January 15, 2026 (Day 1):

• Bird Race Competition
• Photography Workshop by Nikon and Canon at 3:00 pm at Van Bhavan Conference Hall, Udaipur

January 16, 2026 (Day 2):

• Inauguration ceremony at 9:30 am at Ramsar Site, Menar
• Painting & Nature Quiz Competitions for school students
• Bird Photo Gallery and Stamp Exhibition inauguration at 11:00 am
• Field Visit Menar

January 17, 2026 (Day 3):

Expert-guided Wetland Field Visits on six routes covering major migratory bird habitats including Kishan Kareri–Badwai–Badupa, Rundeda–Menar–Kheroda, Chirwa–Nathdwara–Ghassa–Rajyawas–Richhed, Mangalwad–Nagawali–Vallabhnagar–Khadoda, Piladar–Makkadshah–Devgaon/Chavand–Kapasan, and Bhupalsagar–Dindoli.

January 18, 2026 (Final Day):

• Nature Literary Festival and Workshop at 10:00 am at Mohanlal Sukhadia University Guest House
• Valedictory Ceremony and Prize Distribution at 2:00 pm

Entries for Bird Photography Exhibition are invited via email. Participants may submit up to three photographs (12×18 inches, colour or B/W) to dcfwludz@gmail.com. Last date for photo submissions is December 31, 2025.
