Udaipur Bird Festival Opens Today

Udaipur Bird Festival 2025 to be inaugurated by MP Dr Mannalal Rawat at the Golden Park, Kalka Mata Nursery; to be followed by painting and quiz competitions and photography/stamp exhibitions

Udaipur, January 17, 2025 - The Udaipur Bird Festival 2025 will start from today, January 18, with an opening ceremony at the Golden Park, Kalka Mata Nursery, located on Sisarma Road near the Pichola Lake. The chief guest at the programme will be Udaipur MP Dr Mannalal Ravat.

The event will be chaired by Udaipur City MLA Tarachand Jain. Special guests include Vice-Chancellor of Mohanlal Sukhadia University Sunita Mishra and Udaipur District Collector Arvind Poswal. The inauguration ceremony will also see participation from renowned bird experts such as Asad Rahmani, Anand Banerjee, WWF CEO Ravi Singh, BNHS's Rajat Bhargava and other distinguished environmentalists.

On this occasion, painting and quiz competitions will be organised for senior and junior students. Participants in the programmes, including students, public representatives, environmentalists, members of volunteer organisations, army personnel, government officials, employees, media and distinguished citizens of the city, will get an opportunity to take part in bird watching around Pichola Lake and its surrounding areas, guided by bird experts.

At 2:00 pm, a photography and stamp exhibition related to birds will be held at the Suchna Kendra, which will be open for public viewing by environmental enthusiasts and the general public. From 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, a Nature Literary Festival will take place at the OTS Conference Hall, where environmental experts will share detailed knowledge about birds. This session will be addressed by Padma Shri Shyam Sundar Paliwal, Asad Rahmani and Anand Banerjee.
