TIE Udaipur picks winners at its Regional Finals of the Global Pitch Competition for College Students

TIE Udaipur picks winners at its Regional Finals of the Global Pitch Competition for College Students

TiE Udaipur, one among 61 worldwide chapters of TiE completed its local pitch competition to select the college team to represent Udaipur Chapter at the global finals of the TiE University Global Pitch Competition.

The winning team is EF Polymer from CTAE, Udaipur. This team will now compete with 30 teams from across the globe in the semi-finals to be held in mid-May 2021. The team’s business idea relates to Agriculture Products.  Over 500 teams are participating in this global event to empower students at universities and colleges to become entrepreneurs.

The students were judged using a Business Model Canvas and a Business Plan Summary by a set of evaluators. Each team then pitched real time for 8 minutes at the finale followed by a Q&A session by a jury panel.

“The pitch competition received applications from 40 teams from CTAE, GITS, IIMU and RTU KOTA colleges in and around the Udaipur region. These teams were coached by a diverse group of mentors from the chapter. These mentoring sessions covered many enablers from pitching, presentation design, defining value proposition, financial models and many other aspects of entrepreneurship.”Sandeep Singhvi-  Chapter Champion, TIE Udaipur

A wide range of innovative busines ideas were on display from these future entrepreneurs at the event that was conducted virtually. The jury members had a tough time choosing the winner, but used an electronic tool created by TiE to enable them to make their decision in minutes.

TIE University global co-chairs, Dr. Paul Lopez from TIE Atlanta and Ravi Puli from TIE DC activated the US/Canada/Europe/Middle East chapters, while Subbu Pericherla and Viiveck Verma from TIE Hyderabad activated several Indian and Asian chapters into the fold. Over the past few years, TIE University’s co-chairs and planning team have delivered a successful program that serves universities and their students in communities where TIE is present.
