Udaipur Film Festival Begins

The Second Udaipur Film Festival started today at city’s Rajasthan College of Agriculture. Several renowned filmmakers, artists and prominent personalities were present on the occasion.

The Second Udaipur Film Festival started today at city’s Rajasthan College of Agriculture. Several renowned filmmakers, artists and prominent personalities were present on the occasion.

The Festival is organized in the joint association of Udaipur Film Society, Jan Sanskriti Manch and The Group.

The Film Festival was inaugurated by Sanjay Kak, a famous filmmaker. Kak put forward his views on cinema, particularly on documentary films and said, “Documentary films are important part of cinema and the magnitude of documentary is that, it encourages debate.”

While addressing the audience, Sanjay Kak said, “The perimeter of documentary film making is increasing and its definition is also changing with its form, still the main identity of documentary film is intact.”

Udaipur Film Festival Begins

Many people including Ashok Bhowmik, famous artist, Shailendra Singh Bhati, coordinator of Film Society and Naresh Bhargava, president of Film Society shared their views on art and films.

The two day film festival is going to showcase many well known documentary films like Gulabi Gang (2012), Zohra Sehgal: An Interview (2012), Mati ke Lal (2013), Where have you hidden my new crescent Moon (2009), Fandry (2014), Kanche aur Postcard (2012), In city lights (2013) etc.

The inauguration ceremony of Film Festival was followed by inauguration of an Art Exhibition which has painting and art works by the famous artist Zainul Abedin. The artworks of Mahaveer Verma and Mukesh Bijole were also set on display.
