Udaipur Gears up for 'Srajan the Spark' Supported by Hindustan Zinc on Dec 15
Srajan the Spark will feature a live performance by percussion legend Anandan Sivamani, who will also receive a Lifetime Achievement Award
Udaipur, Dec 12, 2025 - Hindustan Zinc Limited (NSE: HINDZINC), the world’s largest integrated zinc producer, is proudly supporting and co-organising the Udaipur chapter of Srajan the Spark on December 15, 2025, in Zinc City Udaipur at the Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandal. Srajan is an international organisation promoting heritage through instrumental music, ghazals and classical vocals. The evening will feature a soulful musical performance by the renowned percussionist Anandan Sivamani who will also be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Performing alongside him will be singers Piyush Panwar (of Indian Idol fame) and Bhavya Pandit.
This initiative, hosted in Zinc City Udaipur, is Hindustan Zinc’s latest effort to nurture arts and culture at the grassroots level, preserving and promoting India’s rich heritage. Zinc City symbolises Udaipur's deep connection with zinc spanning over 2,500 years and aims to position the city as a leading destination for celebrating India’s vibrant culture.
Present at the press conference to announce the musical evening were Arun Misra, CEO and Wholetime Director, Hindustan Zinc, Prasanna Kumar Khamesra, Chief Patron, Rajesh Khamesra, Apex president; Abbas Ali Bandookwala, Apex Secretary, Rajesh Bhandari, Secretary from Srajan the Spark, along with other senior leaders from Hindustan Zinc, Maitreyee Sankhla, Head Corporate Communications, and Anupam Nidhi, Head CSR.
Sharing his thoughts, Arun Misra said, “Rajasthan’s cultural spirit is not a relic of the past. It is a living, evolving force shaped every day by the people who carry it forward. Rajesh Khamesra said that Padma Shri Anandan Sivamani, through his percussion skills and dedication to the art, has taken India’s musical legacy to international shores garnering recognition worldwide and it is an honour for Srajan the Spark to confer the Lifetime Achievement Award on him.
Established over 10 years ago, Srajan the Spark has opened 14 chapters across India and four internationally, promoting Indian music globally. The organisation continues to provide a platform for both renowned and emerging local artists. Its chief patron is retired IPS officer Prasanna Kumar Khamesra and several renowned artists.
Rajendra Sharma, president of Srajan the Spark, shared that the event, sponsored by Hindustan Zinc, will celebrate distinguished social workers and business leaders who have carried the spirit of Rajasthani culture across the world. He also mentioned that acclaimed poet and lyricist Alok Shrivastava will be honoured with the prestigious Amir Khusro Award.
Adding to this, Apex Secretary Abbas Ali Bandookwala announced this year’s line-up of Arts Promoter Awards, which includes:
