The four day Lake Festival inaugurated today with colorful function organized by Tourism Department Rajasthan, District Administration, Udaipur Municipal Corporation and UIT. Various events and competitions started today which were witnessed by both local residents and tourists.

To participate in the various water sports, 350 participants from various states including Delhi, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan arrived in Udaipur, participants representing Indian Navy and ITBP are also taking part in the event.

Shailendra Agarwal Chief Administrative Secretary of Tourism Department flagged off the Dragon Boat Race to begin the event.

Agarwal also honored sports personalities including Vijendra Singh, Ravindra and Arun Nangal from Haryana, Mahesh Vishwakarma and Manmohan Dangi from Madhya Pradesh, Arun Singh from Manipur and Dilipsingh Chouhan from Udaipur.

Following the traditional inauguration, sports activities begin in Lake Fatehsagar. National Championship of Dragon Boat Race, Canoe Polo with Kayaking, Canoeing and Roving also held while a large number of crowd were seen cheering the participants.

Before this, Pooja of Shreenathji took place at Dudh Talai with utmost regard and devotion. Administrative officials and local representatives welcomed the boat of Shree Nath Ji at Gangaur Ghat.

While addressing the audience, Shailendra Agarwal welcomed the guests and teams participating in the event, he emphasized on connecting city lakes for public transport which will also ease the commuting, and also encourage tourism activities.

All top political leaders of Udaipur, Administrative officers and public representatives were present during the event.

The musical performance by Indian Ocean Band also pulled a large number of crowd at Lake Fatehsagar today evening. The famous band performed over the floating stage installed amidst Lake.
