Udaipur Marks International Women's Day
The day started with a women’s marathon “Run for Women’s Right” held at Fateh Sagar in the morning. The marathon was organized in the joint association of Rajasthan Child Welfare Committee and Saanch Foundation.
Several social programs and events were organized today on the occasion of International Women’s Day today in Udaipur.

Rajni Dangi, Mayor of Udaipur Municipal Corporation has not only flagged off the race but also ran with the fellow women.
Later in the day, a cultural program was organized at Jheel Darshan which consisted of dance and music program showcased by students of different educational institutes and special children.
Program was attended by film actress and politician Jaya Prada, MP, Amar Singh, MP and reality show fame Imam Siddiqui. Congress president of Udaipur Neelima Sukhadia and District Chief Madhu Mehta were also present in the program.
Jaya Prada also honored successful women of Udaipur in an honor giving ceremony which followed by a book and calendar launch. Imam Siddiqui met the mentally challenged children and encouraged them.
Several women oriented groups also took part in the event.
Gifts distribution by Medical and Health department to infant baby girls
A beautiful program of distribution of baby kits to all the newborn girls was organized today by the Medical and Health department Udaipur.
On this occasion Vikas Bhalle, District collector, R.N Berwa, CMHO, Ragini Sharma, Add. CMHO, Madhu Mehta, Zila Pramukh were present at the maternity ward of M.B hospital and distributed the gifts to the parents of infant girl children.
Madhu Mehta informed “The tradition was introduced last year by R.N Berwa, CMHO and today we continued it by giving gifts to 22 babies”.
Rally spreading the message – ‘Empowered Women leads to Sound Society’
Rural Health Mission and Rajasthan State India Scout and Guide organized a huge rally in which 1263 girl students participated. The rally was organized to promote the message ‘Empowered Women leads to Sound Society’ among the masses.
Free eye checkup and operation camp for women at Dagla ka Kheda village
Alakh Nayan Mandir and Hindustan Zinc Limited jointly organized a free eye checkup and operation camp at Dagla ka Kheda village where organization Director, Dr L S Jhala and his team provided their services and operated (lens transplantation and cataract treatment) 23 women and conducted checkup of 115 women.
