Udaipur Photos, a community for photographers in Udaipur concluded its first competition today in a prize distribution event at Ranaji Restaurant, Fateh Sagar Paal.

Udaipur Photos, a community for photographers in Udaipur concluded its first competition today in a prize distribution event at Ranaji Restaurant, Fateh Sagar Paal.

‘Ganpati Festivity Theme’, a subject based photography competition was initiated by Udaipur Photos last month during the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. Over 25 photographers submitted their entries out of which 3 were selected for Best Photograph Award and 3 were selected for special recognition.

Riya Sharma, Praveen Kumar and Payal Kothari were awarded for Best Photograph and Rajarshi Mehta, Vibha Patel and Shivam Sharma were awarded as Special Recognition.

Rajdeep Sharma, Senior Photojournalist, Rajasthan Patrika was the chief guest in the event and Bhupesh Kavadia, owner of Bougainvillea, Contemporary Art Gallery was the special guest. Both the guests presented the awards and spoke about the importance of how one can learn and evolve in such a community.

After its inception recently, Udaipur Photos have conducted a photowalk and plans to conduct at least one official photowalk each month along with few impromptu photowalks. Workshops, Mentorships, One on One session are also in the list of activities that Udaipur Photos plan to schedule regularly.

The registration in Udaipur Photos group is open for all and to keep the entry fee minimal, it costs Rs. 100 for 3 months and Rs. 50 per photowalk.
