Udaipur Solar Meet Concludes with Focus on Aditya-L1 Latest Findings
The three-day Udaipur Solar Physics Meeting 2026, organised by Udaipur Solar Observatory, concluded on October 30
UdaipurTimes, Oct 31, 2026 - The three-day national-level Udaipur Solar Physics Meeting (USPM) 2026, organised by the Udaipur Solar Observatory (USO) of the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), concluded in Udaipur on Friday, October 30. Around 75 scientists, researchers and students from across the country participated in the meeting.
The meeting featured discussions on the latest scientific research, significant achievements and future research prospects in the fields of solar physics and space weather.
The highlight of the final day was a special session focusing on new scientific findings from Aditya-L1, India's first space-based solar observatory mission. The session was chaired by Prof. Anil Bharadwaj, Director of PRL.
Aditya-L1 carries a total of seven scientific payloads. Observations from the mission have yielded several significant scientific findings concerning solar flares, coronal mass ejections and the origin and evolution of solar winds.
The second session of the day focused on space weather and was chaired by Prof. D Pallamraju, Dean of PRL. During the session, scientists presented their latest research findings on solar activities, their propagation through interplanetary space and their effects on the near-Earth environment.
A total of 16 speakers presented their research during the scientific sessions on the concluding day. The presentations were followed by discussions on various scientific topics and emerging research challenges.
