There are many beauty and make-up events held for women, distinctively when it comes to bridal makeup, men are often ignored. In this female dominating market of make-up and style, yesterday evening there was an exclusive event  organized to showcase the art of styling newlywed grooms.  Yes! There was a makeup competition for grooms. This exceptional competition was held at Mohta Park, Chetak Circle in the evening of 26/4/2011. The stirring event was organized by Sainshore Kalakar Mandal- An organization of Udaipur’s make-up and hair stylists. 27 participants from different men’s beauty salons were also the members of Sainshore Kalakar Mandal. Certificates of consolation were provided to every participant. Rhythm-Creative head of Honey Money Magazine & Anju Sharma-President of Lake City beauty club were the honored judges of the competition. Chief guests included Chandra Shekhar Rao-Renowned makeup artist. Ashok Paliwal-Owner of Prabhat Salon was the head organizer of the event. “We organized such a unique event in order to reunite all salon team, it was an effort to bring everyone under one roof, to make them feel like a family, there is no competition among us, and it’s just the brotherhood which prevails. To solidify our unity and to entertain simultaneously, we thought of doing such kind of event.” Ashok Paliwal said. On being asked whether he wanted to send any message to Udaipurietes, Ashok replied “I just want to request people to control their extravagance on marriages which is not actually required, this pomp and show should be erased from society. People should forget the “dowry” word, and it should never be supported.” There were 2 rounds in the competition. 1 ^st round was  Band Baja Ramp Walk in which all participants had to walk on the ramp with the beats of Band Baja. The 2 ^nd round consisted of normal ramp show by participants. Top 10 participants were selected among 27 competitors. All 10 winners were rewarded with a day’s make up class at Prabhat Salon. The most striking point in the competition was few girls who also took initiative and actively participated in the ramp walk in the disguised form of boys. more pics of the event
