Udaipur Tales Storytelling Fest Jan 9 to 11

Udaipur, Nov 27, 2025 - A three-day storytelling festival will be held in Udaipur from January 9 to 11, 2025, as part of the seventh edition of the Udaipur Tales International Storytelling Festival, organised by Maa My Anchor Foundation.

Udaipur Tales founders Sushmita Singha and Salil Bhandari informed that this new season will feature live storytelling sessions by national and international artists. Additionally, two storytellers selected by an esteemed jury will be honoured as Master Storytellers for their long-term contributions to the art of oral storytelling.

The event will have seating arrangements for 350-400 audience members, ensuring an intimate and authentic connection between storytellers and audience. This unique international storytelling festival has been celebrating diverse storytelling genres such as contemporary, romance, dastangoi, historical, mystery, horror, thriller and folk.

Speaking about the festival, popular singer Meiyang Chang said that the magic of stories and spoken word, especially in a highly distracted and fragmented world, will always bring people together and what is music if not stories set to tune, that pass from soul to soul.

Apart from Chang, the 2026 Storytelling Festival features Arif Zakaria, Divya Nidhi Sharma, Danish Hussain, Mayur Kalbag, Tenney Wizard of Ra, Prithviraj Chaudhary, Geetika Lidder, Vilas Janve, Jyoti Pandey and more.

Inmates from Udaipur's Central Jail will perform as artists, sharing their stories and music. Participants will include sign language interpreters and blind school students plus there will be open-mic segment Jamghat and children's storytelling competitions.
