Udaipur to host 3 day Orchid festival
Rajasthan's first Orchid festival will be held in Udaipur from 27-July to 29-July. The festival will be showcase about 18 different varieties of Orchid from South Rajasthan.
Rajasthan’s first Orchid festival will be held in Udaipur from 27-July to 29-July. The festival will be showcase about 18 different varieties of Orchid from South Rajasthan.
The festival is being organised by Forest department at the parking lot of Sajjangarh Biological Park. Chief Forest Conservator (Wildlife), Rahul Bhatnagar informed that the festival will showcase a variety of orchids from South Rajasthan and will be the first of its kind exhibition in the State.
Readers may be surprised to know that Rajasthan plays host to certain varieties of Orchids that are found only in Southern and North-Eastern States.

Orchids are mostly found in Rajasthan in Fulwari ki Naal sanctuary, Sitamata sanctuary and Mount Abu sanctuary. The Orchid flowers blossom in the season of monsoon. With 18 different varieties on display, it is an ideal opportunity for all to view this natural exuberance.
