Udaipur to receive Rs 100 Cr under Atal Mission: Maheshwari

PHED Minister Kiran Maheshwari inaugurated the new drinking water plan constructed with a budget of Rs. 308.83 at Udaipur’s RK Puram-Gokul Village area and also laid the foundation of reservoir of 1500 KL capacity.

During the function, Kiran addressed the gathering and said that the government has initiated the plan to provide fluoride free water to all villages by installing 2000 ROs in 2015-16. Also, another scheme called Akshay Jal Yojana has commenced in Udaipur and Rajsamand where 20 Liter water in Rs. 5 and 1 Liter in Re. 1 will be provided. MB Hospital, Rajiv Gandhi Park, Saheliyon Ki Badi and 10 other places are witnessing the installation of this plan.

While talking about the Atal Mission, Kiran informed that Udaipur has been considered for which Rs. 100 Cr will be spent over drinking water facility, sewerage and road development etc. Also, the budget will be spent on water tanks, filter plant, pipe line and pump houses etc.

Talking further she added that Rs. 100 Cr is to be spent for the restoration of old filters plants in the entire state. She emphasized restoration of pumping plants installed at Gulab Bagh which will provide water to all parts of the city. Special mention was made for installation of rain-water harvesting system in all homes.

Udaipur’s rural MLA Phool Singh Meena was also present at the ceremony who informed that 225 hand pumps have been constructed in Girva district. Other delegates present were Shyam Sunder Sharma, Himmat Singh Kharka, BMS’s Santosh Bhatnagar, Pt. Dinesh Dikshit, D.K Gaur etc.
