Heyiii Udaipur! Happy new Year(Hindu New year) from UT

In the morning of 4^th April, people were heading for work , and on the way they came across with the school kids who were applying Tilak on the forehead of everyone as a symbol of Welcome & Respect. Yes, this feeling of oneness is circum-volving in our Udaipur.

4000 Students of Alok Sansthan Celebrated 2068^th Shubh Vikram Samwat in an outstanding way which united the lake city. The sanctifying soil was brought from the heroic land Haldighati to get the valor feeling. The soil was worshipped in front of giant posters of Maharana Pratap. Nav Varsh Samaroh Samiti President Pradeep Kumawat offered flowers as tribute to the Maharana Pratap’s poster in Surajpol and Chairman of Municipal Corporation, Rajni Dangi offered flowers to Maharana Pratap’s poster at Delhi gate. Four main intersections of the city were focused for this purpose.

People heading for work were offered Neem leaf with black pepper & mishri, which is considered auspicious and is a reason for good health through out the season. Delhi Gate, SurajPol, Town Hall, Bapu Bazar, Ashwini Bazar, Hathipol, Moti Chauhatta, Ghanta Ghar, Jagdish  Chauk, Malla Talai, Sector 11,14 & 4, Goverdhan Vilas, Kala Ji Gora Ji & Gulab Bagh were surrounded by Alok Sansthan’s students to make it unique & powerful.

Red light prompted the students to run to apply tilak to people. Some local businessmen got impressed by ebullient bunch of kids & started assisting in their task. The Indian President & Prime minister were sent the pious soil of Haldighati as symbol of wishes & respect. State Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot & Vasundhara Raje were also honoured by these pious soils.

A street vendor was obliged by such enthusiastic devotional work by kids, his eyes became watery when students touched his feet to get blessing. He expressed overwhelmingly the gratitude and love he felt that moment.

A Tradition Kept Alive at Doodh Talai

So the most awaited day of the 4 day cultural event of Hindu New Year arrived, Udaipurietes relished it to the core. The ambiance was spell bounding at Doodhtalai on 4^th April. Chief Guests Included Ex MLA Gulab Chand Katariya, Municipal Corporation Chairman Rajni Dangi & founder of Alok Sansthan Shyam Lal Kumawat.

Soft music in the soothing evening and “Deep Pravah” by countless Udaipurietes made the event an eye candy. The unceasing hard work by Pradeep Kumawat  got kudos by everyone. All lights lit up at Jagmandir, Lake Palace & Udaivilas Oberoi. And Doodh Talai was Basking its Glory.

“It feels like an era of Mahabharat is going on and some Devi/Devta (God) would suddenly come out of the reverent water of lakes” Uttered Rajni Dangi (Chairman of Municipal Corporation). She added that before 18 years, Municipal Coporation begun its contribution to this 30 years old tradition of celebrating Hindu New Year. Which is considered the original date of formation of the Universe by the God( in Hindu Scriptures). She went mushy while talking about the beauty, maintainance & cleanliness of Udaipur & appealed Udaipur People to keep the City Clean & Healthy. Calling the ‘lake city’ the no.1 city in the whole world, she wished that it maintains its natural beauty. She said that soon few garbage bins would be planted at the sides of Lakes so that people don’t dump litter into the water.

Pradeep Kumawat said “we should not forget our culture and its our duty to safe gueard it”.

Mesmerized like every other Udaipurietes by its marvelous natural beauty, Ex MLA Gulab Chandra katariya said few words about Udaipur’s beauty. He said that Udaipur is glittering today with all its magnificience. He thanked Munciple Corporation for maintaining the beauty of the Kashmir of Rajasthan. The announcement of the almost completed tunnel which would bring dewas’s water into Pichhola Lake , was like music to ears. He also remembered Late. Mohan Lal Sukhadia & narrated his contribution for Udaipur.

Few performances were also there for entertainment. To make it remarkable, There were fireworks at the end of the program. The stupendous 4 day cultural event was wrapped up by lots of good wishes exchanged between udaipurites.
