Hundreds of youth took part in a Marathon organized today at Fateh Sagar Lake to promote awareness of the environment and for conservation of lakes.
The 8 km S.S. Marathon was organized by the S.S. College of Engineering, a premier techno institute of the city. Nearly 800 people, mostly youth jogged alongside each other while spreading the message of “Save Environment – Save Lakes”.
The event was attended by Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, Chairman of HRH Group as the Chief Guest, while the special guests included Madhu Mehta, Zila Pramukh. Social worker, Nagendra Singh Chouhan lighted the lamp to set off the run.
BN College student Ranjeet Singh stood first by finishing the marathon in 25 minutes; Ram Singh of Jodhpur grabbed the second position, whereas Sunita Jat of RNGC Bhinder managed to come in third.
In his short address to the present audience and runners, Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar said, “such activities should not be bounded to special days and occasions but should be continued in regular intervals.” Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar encouraged the participants and praised the initiative taken by the organizers.
A free blood sugar check-up camp was also held by Deergayu Clinic under the direction of Dr. Garima Chaturvedi and Sudhir Chaturvedi.
