It was beautiful to see the dark heavy clouds layered over the Lake Fateh Sagar this morning when hundreds of locals participated in the 5th Marathon “Run For Heart” organized by GBH American Hospital.

Students from various schools and colleges, NCC cadets, Army Jawans, senior citizens, professionals etc took part in the run and spread the awareness of healthy heart.

Winners were selected in different categories according to age and gender viz. Senior Citizens, Youth and Children.

Pradeep Sharma and Indubala won the senior citizen category, whereas Champalal Kharadi and Alka Joshi topped Youth category. In children category Prabhashankar and Nikita Choudhary remained the winners.

Anand Jha, CEO GHB Cancer Hospital informed that this year’s global theme of World Heart Day is “Take the road to a healthy heart”.

“To become successful, do everything with your heart and for that, heart should be healthy. Such programs are necessary to spread health awareness among the masses” said Dr. Subodh Agarwal, Divisional Commissioner.

World Heart Federation is the only international organization in the world which is dedicated to spread awareness among people about the heart problems and how to fight with it.
