Udaipur, Sept 8, 2025 – Hindustan Zinc Limited, the world’s largest zinc producer and one of the top five silver producers globally, reaffirmed its commitment to combating malnutrition with the announcement of the second edition of the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon, scheduled for September 21, 2025, from Field Club, Udaipur. To mark this significant occasion, the official poster and jersey were unveiled following the digital launch of the marathon, integrated with technology.

This unique initiative has introduced Udaipur to one of its most anticipated marathons with the theme Run for Zero Hunger. The poster aims to inspire participants to support the Run for Zero Hunger campaign led by Anil Agarwal Foundation’s Nand Ghar initiative, which is focused on eradicating malnutrition in India.

The jersey is designed in vibrant shades of blue, orange and pink and represents inclusivity, energy and unity, all of which embody the spirit of the marathon.

Present at the inaugural ceremony were Sunil Chhidri, Chief Conservator of Forests, Udaipur, Mukesh Saini, Deputy Conservator of Forests, Nitin Bohra, DTO, Arun Misra, CEO and Whole-Time Director of Hindustan Zinc, and Dr Manoj Soni from Anybody Can Run. Also in attendance were Hindustan Zinc’s CSRO Munish Vasudeva, COO Kishore S., Vedanta Group and Hindustan Zinc CSR Head Anupam Nidhi, Head of Corporate Communication Maitreyee Sankhla and several officials from Hindustan Zinc and participants.

After the massive success of the marathon’s first edition in 2024, which saw more than 5,000 runners from across the world, this year’s event comes with an even grander vision.

Race Categories

The marathon will feature the following race categories:

  • Half Marathon (21 km)
  • Cool Run (10 km)
  • Dream Run (5 km)
  • A special Race with Champions for persons with disabilities

Organised by Hindustan Zinc, the Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon is officially certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS). As a globally recognised event listed on the international marathon calendar, it promises an extraordinary experience with a scenic route around Fateh Sagar and the Aravalli Hills.

The event also featured a captivating performance by mentalist Sapan Kumar, who mesmerised the audience with his tricks inspired by Udaipur’s rich history and the mission of the marathon.
