Vijaydan Detha Sahitya Utsav in Udaipur, March 17–19
Rajasthan Sahitya Academy will organise the three-day Vijaydan Detha Sahitya Utsav 2026 from March 17–19 with distinguished literary personalities, 12 literary sessions, cultural evenings and book exhibition
Udaipur, March 13, 2026 - On the occasion of Rajasthan Day which is celebrated on March 30 every year, the Rajasthan Sahitya Academy will organise the Vijaydan Detha Sahitya Utsav 2026 from March 17-19 at its campus.
Academy Secretary Dr Basant Singh Solanki informed that the three-day literary festival will feature 12 sessions. Eminent and renowned writers and intellectuals from both National and State levels will actively participate in the event.
The inaugural session of the festival will be on March 17. Chief guest will be Manoj Kumar, National Organisation Secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad, Jaipur, while Padma Shri Chandra Prakash Deval will attend as Special Guest.
Several distinguished literary personalities will participate in different sessions, including Kailash Kabir (Jodhpur), Vishnu Harihar Sharma (Kota), Prof. BP Sharma (Udaipur), Vishesh Kothari (Kolkata), Mridul Bhaseen, Dr Preeti Sharma (Jaipur), Bhanu Bharti, Hemant Joshi, Dr Asha Pandey Ojha, Dr Madhav Hada, Madhu Acharya (Bikaner), Rajesh Vyas (Jaipur), Rekha Lodha (Bhilwara) and Hariram Meena (Jaipur).
Cultural evenings will be organised on the first and the final day of the festival. A book exhibition will also be set up at the Academy campus. Additionally, the Rajasthan State Archives, Udaipur, will present a special exhibition on the theme of Mewar in historical records.
