World-cup Fever Ruled Mass Wedding of Tailik Sahu Samaj
ICC Cricket World Cup Fever has ruled even the most idealistic ritual known as "Wedding". Some rare moments were seen today at a mass communal wedding of Sahu Samaj. While guests were cheering up, the colorfully dressed bride has bowled out his groom in a small pitch made in the wedding auditorium.

This small cricket match was just like a goodluck token for both bride-n-groom and Indian Cricket team. 45 couple tied the wedding knot today at the 21st Mass Wedding ceremony held by Udaipur’s Tailik Sahu Samaj today at Town Hall. The president of the society Bhanwar Lal Asarma told that they’d organized first mass wedding on 22 nd May 1991, after that it became like a custom and every year their society organize this event. This year 45 couples took part in the mass wedding. The preparations like registration and management were started mobilizing few months before. A grand stage of 75000sq. ft was set to welcome more than 12000 guests; more than 100 volunteers helped in all arrangements. Every couple participated has received a fixed deposit worth rs.10000/- as a gift from the organization. Mass wedding in India is not new, every small or big social group representing their caste often organizes such events which directly or indirectly benefits participants and gives a stand to the social effectiveness. It also helps those not so financially strong families to wed their sons or daughters in a cost effective manner.
