The 8^th South Asian Universities Festival is going to commence from 7^th March onward in Udaipur of which preparations are in full swing. This is for the first time that New Delhi’s South Asian University will be participating in the event.

Vice Chancellor of MLSU Prof I.V Trivedi said that with collaboration of Mohanlal Sukhadia University and Pacific University, this event will be at full-throttle in which 75 universities will participate.

The inauguration of the event will be held at Vivekanand Auditorium with the song composed by Gajendra Pandya of Banswara. A march past will be organized on 7^th March from Fateh Sagar to the university. The following day will witness various competitions at MLSU, Pacific and Bagore ki Haveli etc.

On the eve of International Women’s Day on 8^th March, a seminar on women empowerment will be conducted along with a Khadi fashion show in the afternoon.

On 9^th March, for skill development, many students and specialists will present insights during the seminar. To acquaint students from the heritage of Udaipur, they will be taken to a small tour encompassing sites such as City Palace, City Palace Museum, Bagore ki Haveli, Pichola, Moti Magri and Haldighati etc.

Various competitions will be conducted during the entire fest including face painting, folk dance, debate, fashion show, spot photography, film making, solo act, quiz, mime, song, musical instrument and much more. Besides these, many cultural events will highlight the fest.

The closing ceremony will be conducted on 11^th March at 2 PM at Pacific University, Udaipur. Students will also indulge in planting trees on the concluding day.
