Udaipur, April 9, 2025 - Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL), through its Zinc Kaushal Udaipur initiative, organised a job fair where 30 employers from sectors such as BPO, tourism and hospitality, microfinance and banking came together. Companies such as HDFC Bank, Sajjan Palace, Annapurna Finance, Arcgate Technologies, Reliance Retail, Parallel Hotel and others participated in the event. More than 200 trainees from Udaipur, Dariba and Zawar regions attended the job fair, which provided them with career opportunities.

A special session for youth was also conducted during the job fair, including one by HZL’s health and fitness brand ambassador, Sufiya Sufi. The ultra marathon runner and youth icon shared her journey of perseverance and passion, inspiring the attendees to dream big and stay committed to their goals.

The job fair successfully facilitated skill-based placements and strengthened the partnership and collaboration with the Zinc Kaushal Kendra. Additionally, discussions between employers and the Zinc Kaushal Kendra team focused on strategies to bridge the gap between industry skill requirements and unemployment. Employers presented their views on industry-specific skills.

Recently, the Zinc Kaushal Kendra had helped nearly 500 rural youth from Udaipur, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh and Rajsamand find employment through the job fair.

The Zinc Kaushal Kendra has trained more than 7,000 rural youth, including 40% women, providing them with market-relevant skills and helping them secure employment in the State and nationwide. In recent years, this initiative has proven to be transformative in changing the lives of rural youth, further strengthening HZL’s commitment to rural empowerment and youth development. It offers specialized training in various trades, including security services, retail sales and marketing, assistant electrician, food and beverage service, customer relationship management and microfinance.

Youth trained at Zinc Kaushal Kendras have secured jobs in major locations such as Bhilwara, Udaipur, Ajmer, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Lonavala, with salaries ranging from Rs 14,000 to Rs 30,000 per month.

The Zinc Kaushal Kendras established by HZL in Dariba, Agucha, Kayad, Udaipur and Zawar serve as transformative platforms for skill enhancement and employment. The programme is designed to address the growing issue of youth unemployment by offering short-term, intensive courses in hospitality, microfinance services, trade, correspondence, sales and customer relationship management and self-employment. By fostering partnerships with financial institutions and government bodies, the initiative effectively bridges the gap between education and employment.
