Amrita Haat Celebrates Women Entrepreneurs in Udaipur

Udaipur, Feb 18, 2026 - The seven-day Amrita Haat (fair) was inaugurated at the Gandhi Ground in Udaipur on Wednesday (February 18) in the presence of the Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kevalramani and District Collector Namit Mehta. The fair has been organised under the aegis of the District Administration and the Women’s Empowerment Department.

Women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) have set up stalls to sell their handmade products, offering a wide range of daily-use items. The seven-day fair will operate daily from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Kevalramani said this Haat has been organised regularly for many years, providing women with support for self-reliance and livelihood. She added that the women from SHGs at the fair inspire other women to engage in self-employment and empowerment.

District Collector Namit Mehta said the fair provides a good platform for women to showcase their products. He urged visitors to promote these products, increase sales and help women achieve economic empowerment and support.

Sanjay Joshi, Deputy Director of Women Empowerment Department, shared that SHG products are available at more than 120 stalls. These include handicrafts, traditional products, handloom items, handmade jewellery, decorative items, organic products, spices, papads, pickles and various food items.

Also present at the opening were Additional Divisional Commissioner Chhogaram Devasi, social worker Chandragupt Singh and a large number of SHG members.

Cultural programmes and sports competitions will also be held during the fair.
