A 10-day National Craft Fair Gandhi Shilp Bazaar was organised under the banner of RUDA (The Rural Non-Farm Development Agency).

The craft fair showcased variety of handmade products, clothing, home décor and imitation jewelry over 128 counters at Town Hall UMC campus.

Today, the craft fair Gandhi Shilp Bazaar was formally inaugurated by Z.A Khan, Executive Director, RUDA lightning a lamp at the venue.

The motive behind such fair is to promote harmony among various states of India. In the fair, craftsmen from various states including Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Assam, Odissa, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan and Haryana are participating.

According to Ashok Meena, Joint Director, Handicraft Department, “These fairs are organised in every state of the country, where craftsmen registered with RUDA gets opportunity to display and sell their products throughout the nation.”
