Rs 52 Lakh sales have been notched up at the Khaadi Mela currently being organised at Bhandari Darshak Mandap, Maharana Bhupal Stadium. The Khadi Mela started on Dec 21 and will be running till January 5.

Coordinator of the Mela, Prakash Chandra Gaur said that the morale of the shopkeepers has been boosted by the rising sales and increasing footfalls. He said that winter specific food items and drinks have seen a lot of traction.

He specially singled out a stall giving out “Jagal” for heavy visitor interest. Jagal is prepared with coconut, jaggery and sesame (तिल ).  Jagal is considered to have a lot of health benefits during winter.  He said that given that Jagal was being prepared in front of people, there was no chance of adulteration and question on its purity.
