The national workshop on the Terracotta Art was inaugurated today at Shilpgram by customary way of worshipping Lord Ganesha and the Potter’s Wheel.

10 Day workshop is organized by West Zone Cultural Center in which artists from 14 states will participate and showcase their artwork.

Terracotta Art Workshop Begins at Shilpgram

The workshop will provide a common platform to all the artists for learning and sharing different genre of Terracotta Art form.

Shailendra Dashora, director of WZCC commenced the program in the traditional manner. Thereafter, an artist using potter’s wheel made a vessel, leg of an elephant etc. from clay as an aspiration to make the event successful.

30 Craftsmen from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Odisha, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Chattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, West Bengal and Bihar will take part in the workshop and will share their knowledge and experiences.

All sculptures prepared during the workshop will be installed in the newly made Terracotta Museum in Shilpgram.
