Udaipur, Jan 19, 2026 - With the objective of increasing public awareness about forest conservation and strengthening forest-based livelihoods, the Forest Department successfully organised a Van Mela at Sajjangarh Biological Park, Udaipur. The fair aimed to spread the message of biodiversity conservation while providing an effective marketing platform for artisans, self-help groups and entrepreneurs associated with forest-based products.
Representatives from various forest divisions of the State, tribal artisans and self-help groups showcased and sold a wide range of products, including honey, medicinal plants, bamboo and wooden handicrafts, herbal products and eco-friendly items. A large number of city residents, students and tourists visited the fair and showed keen interest in forest-based products.
Senior officials of the Forest Department actively participated in the event, encouraging participants and highlighting the importance of sustainable forest management, biodiversity conservation and livelihood enhancement.
The mela also featured cultural performances and environmental awareness activities, making the event more vibrant and engaging.
