Here are the ways we can identify plastic rice:

Cooking : When you cook plastic rice, a thick layer forms on the sides and top of the vessel. It also remains hard in some places.

Odour : Keep some damp rice in a plate outside for a few days. It will start fermenting if it is real, else if fake it will stay fresh.

Check if it floats : Put some rice grains in water. If they are fake they will float, else they will sink.

Temperature : Try heating some grains of rice. Plastic rice will give a smell of plastic when burnt.
