Welcome to Hulchal Saturday Café!! An initiative of Shikshantar, Halchal Café runs only on Saturday evenings from 7 to 10pm at Shikshantar, Adinath Nagar Kharol Colony, next to Star Hospital. Halchal which means energetic ambiance, this cafe is aimed to provide a sensational thought by unconventional mean, it is a platform for people to share their ideas, making new friends and to promote local grains like Kangani. Almost every food being served on Halchal Café is prepared by using these grains. Multi grain Parathas, Momos, tea made of Pomegranate and Lemon, Pizza, Burger, Dosa, Uttapam, Salad, Thai Mango Delight, Roti made of Jawar and Cookies made by Kangani (kangani flour is used mostly at times of fasting as it comes from  the fruit family and not the grain family). Surprisingly, they don’t use iodized salt, sugar and cow’s milk. They refer milk as ‘white poison’. Based on the concept of ‘zero waste’ their furniture provides you with an avant- grade look. This has caught immediate attention of nature lovers due to its uniqueness and totally different way of promoting concern about the environment. They also have a different way to invite their guests. They send e-mails and via social networking sites they ask people to come and visit their café. The attendance at the café varies from 20-100 people every weekend. They are very soon planning to increase the frequency of the café from once in a week to about twice a week. However they are facing acute shortage of volunteers to serve and help them. It is a great opportunity for all those who want to try and experience something new, different and exclusive that too without any cost.
