Weekend Review- Bawarchi Restaurant

Weekend Review- Bawarchi Restaurant

Bawarchi Restaurant serves pure vegetarian food. One of the best restaurants in Udaipur. Here is my review of this restaurant. its food, service and price.

review one restaurant of Udaipur every week. This time it was not so great experience still I want to share it with you. Bawarchi is a popular restaurant you must have heard or most probably you have been there also. It is situated near Udaipur’s most popular market Bapu Bazar. To be precise it is just close to Delhi Gate Circle. So what we had ordered? Before that, let me tell you what happen when we reached there, as it was a weekend there was no table vacant. We waited outside for few minutes and when they called my name, we went inside. One table was available but a person; I guess a manager asked us to sit on the one side of table leaving the front seat empty. I asked why, he replied that it is for other’s to come and sit. What? Are we in a family restaurant or a government run charity hotel? I love privacy and I am sure nobody wants any strangers to come and sit in front popping you and your wife and how you eat and what you talk? This is pathetic! I asked my wife, what to do as it was 9:15 pm and we were too hungry. She said let’s sit the way they want. We had no option left. But luckily nobody came there, later I asked my wife to sit in front and there we go…. We ordered two of their very talked about dishes
  • Malai Kofta
  • Kadai Paneer
  • With Butter Nan
That’s all. Weekend Review- Bawarchi Restaurant Malai Kofta: They served us one single piece of kofta covered with gravy, kofta is a ball made up of mashed potatoes and stuffed with some spices and bit of dry fruits. Generally this dish is made by cream to make it less spicy. Malai Kofta at bawarachi was good. I liked their gravy as it was not that oily, not spicy and really thick and yummy. But the only part I didn’t liked was the way they served it with garnished paneer and coriander leaves above it. Otherwise, it was really good.

……..

Weekend Review- Bawarchi Restaurant Kadai Paneer: I am not sure if they make kadai paneer in real kadai but yes they serve it in real kadai. Paneer is my all time favorite and for that no restaurant in particular is responsible. I love paneer everywhere. But, here the kadai paneer was not what I expected. Paneer and capsicum with big pieces of onions is not something I would love to eat so I had only paneer. That’s my very personal look and taste. Otherwise it was fine. Not good.

……..

Weekend Review- Bawarchi Restaurant Butter Nan: Biggest joke in the name of butter nan if you ever want to see than drop here. Generally, I don’t criticize what I eat because that’s not my principle. But here I was upset the way they made it. A nan which was dry, rubbery, not hot and butterless. Just because I was terribly hungry I had it otherwise it was simply awful. Damage! Kadia Paneer: Rs.70/- Malai Kofta: Rs.60/- Butter Nan: Rs 20/each Total including drinks: Rs 210/- What I’ve learned? Don’t visit Bawarchi in weekends. It is a nice place to have good food but they make things really bad when they cannot control crowd. Don’t order butter nan or if you do ask them to make it perfect or atleast try it. What I liked there? There service Menu with many varieties What I did not like? Restaurant is bit congested, noisy. Way they treat some customers. What I have to say now?
