The 8th century Shiva Temple located at Kailashpuri, 22 Km from Udaipur, also known as Eklingji was the main center where many devotees walked barefoot to the temple from Udaipur and nearby villages.

People commenced their journey last night to Eklingji and reached the temple. Various organizations had put up stalls providing refreshments to the visitors. The route echoed with ‘Har Har Mahadev’, ‘Bam Bam Bhole’ and other devotional songs.

From early morning, the string of religious ceremonies started and devotees gathered in the various Shiva temples in the city. At Eklingji, the rituals were carried out under tight security.

In the city, long queue of devotees was also seen at Mahakaleshwar Temple waiting for their turn to offer prayers to lord Shiva.
