The most magnificent celebration of Navratri at Sutharwara, an unusual locality of Udaipur which became popular in recent years for its special Navratari celebrations, concludes after submerging Goddess Ambe’s idol in Lake Pichola yesterday on October 7.
Like the whole 9 blessed nights and 10 days of the festival when Sutharwara became essence of festive flavor that moved thousands of devotees to visit the highly decorated place every day, the end of the celebration had also astounded the crowd.
While the Gher Dance performance by kids mesmerized the devotees, the electrifying tune of Maharashtra Band (Bombay Dhol) connected the soul to the enlightened mystic.
Overall it was a most pleasant and devotional experience which also illustrated the communal harmony as Sutharwara is situated close to Dholi Bawri, a Muslim pocket that makes special arrangements every year to welcome Hindu devotees passing through the area.
This year too, Muslims of Dholi Bawri welcomed the procession by Hindus of Sutharwara by offering sharbat and fruits showing a perfect example of religious tolerance, unity and harmony.
Hope the beauty of hearts continues to flourish in the city of lakes; may Lord of earth persistently shower his blessings on every community, every area and every person of Udaipur.
