ABHA ID Made Mandatory for Patient Registration
The Medical Education Department has instructed all medical colleges and their affiliated hospitals to implement the order with immediate effect
Udaipur, Jan 28, 2026 - ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) ID has been made mandatory for registration of patients in government and private medical colleges, along with their affiliated hospitals.
According to the orders issued by Medical Education Commissioner Gayatri Rathore, patient registration in OPD, IPD and emergency services will be carried out strictly on the basis of ABHA ID. The Medical Education Department has instructed all medical colleges and their affiliated hospitals to implement the order with immediate effect.
The order clearly states that from the academic session 2025-26, only those patients will be considered valid for academic and clinical purposes who are authenticated through an ABHA ID. Recording ABHA ID details is mandatory to maintain authentic patient records.
Compliance with ABHA ID registration may be verified during inspections conducted by the National Medical Commission (NMC). Any negligence in this regard may invite action against the concerned faculty members and institutions.
