Ban imposed on tobacco products in Rajasthan
Ban on tobacco products in Rajasthan.
Rajasthan government has finally imposed a ban on tobacco and other related products. Any ‘pan masala’ containing tobacco, nicotine, magnesium carbonate and flavoured ‘supari’ containing mineral oil are covered under this ban.
The ban has been imposed under the Food Safety Act and is the most important decision to curb the addiction amongst the youth. Production, distribution and storage will not be allowed in Rajasthan state anymore. Rajasthan now stands 3rd on the ladder after Maharashtra and Bihar to impose this ban.
Rajasthan’s Health Minister in his statement said that these products are creating health hazards and it is the youth who is getting engulfed in this addiction. Tobacco addiction is causing cancer, hence a complete ban is a must.
