Beware | Swine flu cases on rise in Udaipur
There has been an alarming increase in the number of Swine flu cases in Udaipur over the last four days. The ICU section of the swine flu ward is almost full and only one bed is empty.
There has been an alarming increase in the number of Swine flu cases in Udaipur over the last four days. The ICU section of the swine flu ward is almost full and only one bed is empty.
There was a new patient admitted in serious condition on Monday in the ICU ward. There are currently 11 patients undergoing treatment in the ward and 10 out of these have been found to be Swine Flu positive.
There has been one death in the past four days on account of swine flu. Four other patients were referred to Ahmedabad for treatment.
The department said that there could be additional cases that directly went to Ahmedabad but the hospital authorities did not have a data on that.
Sanjeev Tak, CMHO, said that as a precautionary medicine, the department is distributing Tamiflu medicines in different areas of the city. Besides the department is also carrying out extensive awareness exercise to inform people about dos and donts to avoid being impacted by Swine flu.
People below 5 years and above 65 years are most prone to the flu. Besides diabetics, heart patients, people with breathing problem are also at risk.
As a precautionary measure, people need to take healthy and vitamin enriched food including green vegetables and pulses. Avoid deficiency of water in the body. High amount of water reduces risk of catching the flu. Fruits and juices also help in reducing the risk.
