Post detection of positive cases of Bird flu in New Delhi, a high alert has been sounded off in Rajasthan for the same. The alert has been issued by the Central Zoo authority.

The RDDL team from Veterinary department and a team from Forest department have started collecting samples from various birds. The team has so far collected samples from 13 bird species for possible carriage of bird flu virus.

The samples will be sent to the central laboratory in Jalandhar or Bhopal for testing.

Though positive samples are yet to be detected in the State but Central Government agencies have notified the State to be in a state of high alert.
