On the occasion of World Cancer Day 2026, CAIT Women Wing Udaipur and Paras Health organised a grand Cancer Awareness Walkathon at Fateh Sagar
Udaipur, Feb 3, 2026 - On the occasion of World Cancer Day (which is on February 4), CAIT Women Wing Udaipur, in collaboration with Paras Health, organised a grand Cancer Awareness Walkathon on Fateh Sagar to spread public awareness about the disease. A large number of Udaipur residents participated in the event.
CAIT Women Wing Udaipur president and Mewar Region In-Charge Vijaylaxmi Galundia said that in today’s time, imbalanced diet, consumption of tobacco and intoxicants, increasing air and water pollution, mental stress, physical inactivity and irregular lifestyle are becoming major causes of cancer. She emphasised that timely awareness and lifestyle modifications can significantly reduce the risk of this disease.
CAIT Medical Director Dr Baldeep Sharma informed that Paras Health cancer specialist Dr Manoj Mahajan, during his address, had highlighted that early symptoms of cancer such as sudden weight loss, prolonged fatigue, formation of lumps, persistent cough, abnormal bleeding or wounds that do not heal for a long time should never be ignored. Timely diagnosis and early-stage treatment can help control cancer effectively.
Cancer prevention measures were also discussed by Dr Praveen and Dr Kirti Sharma, who stressed the importance of a balanced and nutritious diet, regular exercise, avoidance of tobacco and alcohol, routine health check-ups, a stress-free lifestyle and a clean environment.

According to CAIT Secretary Dr Sonu Jain and Executive Treasurer Chayanika Galundia, all participants wore uniform T-shirts and caps and took part in the walkathon with slogans like “Cancer Prevention – Awareness is the Solution” and “Healthy Life, Cancer-Free Life,” spreading a positive message to society.
On this occasion, Nisha from U-Can demonstrated the importance of fitness through a Zumba session, motivating participants to adopt a healthy lifestyle and regular exercise. Additionally, doctors conducted an interactive question-and-answer session, providing women with important information related to cancer awareness.
