The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is opening a new CGHS Allopathic Wellness Center in Udaipur. This will be the fourth such center in the state, after Jaipur, Ajmer, and Jodhpur.
Currently, about 12,000 central government employees and pensioners in Udaipur have to travel long distance to reach wellness centers in Ajmer or Ahmedabad for medical needs. The new center will bring much-needed healthcare services closer to home.
Udaipur center will offer outpatient services and medicines, consultations with specialists, and emergency care. Patients will also be able to get treatment at private hospitals in emergencies and will have access to reimbursement for prosthetic limbs.
In addition to Udaipur, new wellness centers are planned for Hubli, Vasco-da-Gama, Sambalpur, Kollam, and Sahakar Nagar in Bengaluru. The Ministry of Health is gathering information from local banks to determine the number of central government employees and pensioners in these areas.
