Delhi Enforces 50% Work-From-Home, Fuel Curbs as AQI Worsens
Vehicles without a valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate will not be allowed to refuel at petrol pumps in Delhi
Udaipur, Dec 17, 2025 - As air quality continues to worsen in Delhi and NCR, the government is enforcing new measures everyday to control it. Starting Thursday (December 18), all private and government offices have been directed to implement work-from-home for 50% of its workforce failing to do which would incur penalties.
Additionally, vehicles without a valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate will not be given fuel at petrol stations in Delhi. This goes into effect from Thursday, announced Delhi Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sisra. He also said those vehicles below the BS-VI standard and with outside-Delhi registration will not be allowed to enter the city when GRAP (Graded Response Action Plan) stages 3 and 4 are in place. Also construction material transports will also be banned from the city during GRAP 4.
Meanwhile, Delhi Labour Minister Kapil Mishra has announced Rs 10,000 as compensation to registered construction workers who have become unemployed during the 16-days GRAP 3 implementation under which construction activities have been halted. This will also apply to the GRAP 4 phase.
Also, the Singapore High Commissioner Simon Wong has issued a health advisory on his social media platform urging Singapore nationals to maintain caution and follow Delhi government’s restrictions under GRAP 4. This has led to cross-accusations among political parties with the Opposition terming it an “international embarrassment”.
