A Family Dental Health Program was organised today by Darshan Dental College at Saifee International School, part of Taiyabyah Secondary School, Delhi gate. The sentient school hosted Dr. Nagesh Bhatt, HOD of Public Health Dentistry, who invited students of the school along with their parents for a free dental check up.

His team consisted of 6 skilled Post Graduate students and followed an effective procedure. The team first took a small introductory class for the families and discussed several wrongdoings related with daily dental health. After the class helped them understand oral health better, the families were then called in for checkups.

The check up process included a small general check up for making an estimation of the candidate’s oral health condition.

If needed, small treatments were conducted in the mobile van itself, or else the candidate was referred for a complete elaborate treatment.

Dr Nagesh explained his motto for the camp. He said, ‘We provide a comprehensive oral health service to a child and his parents. We want to eradicate oral problems all over this city like we’ve done in Nasik.’

His main motivation is to take care of the rapidly spreading disease of Oral cancer. According to Sheikh Quraish Raipurwala, Headmaster of Taiyabyah School, it will take the team two more Sundays to completely examine all the students of the school and their respective families.

Dr Nagesh concluded by stressing that they are working for a motto and intend to keep visiting schools consecutively.
