1^st August is also celebrated as World Oral Hygiene Day. To mark this occasion, a health camp was organized at Khamnor, 40km from Udaipur by Darshan Dental College and Hospital Udaipur.

A group of post graduate students conducted check-ups on local residents of Khamnor village at Community Health Centre and educated them by demonstrating various measures of keeping the mouth, teeth and gums healthy.

According to Dr. Nagesh Bhat, HOD (Public Health Dentistry), the camp conducted by group of 11 students involved screening and displaying treatment via use of charts. Students also distributed tooth-brushes, tooth paste and mouth wash in association with Indian Dental Association, Colgate and Listerine.

“We tried to motivate people of the locality to work on their Oral Health” said Dr. Shital Hungund, Principal of Darshan Dental College.

The camp was organized under the direction of Dr. Bunkar, Head of Community Health Centre (Block) and Dr. Surya CHC head Khamnor.
