MB Hospital Udaipur launches free HPV vaccination for girls aged 14–15 to prevent cervical cancer; vaccine works most effectively in girls aged 9 to 14
Udaipur, April 7, 2026 – The Maharana Bhupal (MB) Government Hospital in Udaipur has launched the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination drive which is currently being provided free of cost to girls in the 14–15 age group. This is a significant step by the government toward protecting women and adolescent girls from cervical cancer, one of the most common cancers among women.
Hospital Superintendent RL Suman said that HPV infection is the primary cause of cervical cancer. If the vaccine is administered on time, it can effectively prevent this serious disease. The vaccine works most effectively in girls aged 9 to 14. Based on medical advice and need, it can also be given to women in other age groups.
