In continuation with our health and fitness series, this week I visited Gold’s Gym at 49-a, Panchwati. I saw the entire gym and talked with the promoter and director Mr. Vishal Kothari who opened it an year ago in Udaipur. Gold’s is an international Gym chain with a membership of 4.2 million in 780 centers, in 37 countries of the 5 continents on face of this earth. Out of these, 43 health clubs are in India. In the peak of his career (when he won the title of Mr. Olympia seven times) Arnold was working out at same gym at Venice Beach CA. Another contribution to field of Body Building is the production of famous movie “Pumping Iron” in 1977 by Gold’s gym featuring three rivals Arnold, Franco Columbu and Lou Ferrigno, their preparation, training and emotions for the competition of Mr. Olympia. This movie started a craze for Body Building in the world. He is certified from American Council on Exercise which is supreme authority in fitness across the globe and carries 20,000 + hours personal training experience.
