State Directive on Ambulance Service in 'Golden Hour'
NHM ambulance services to provide free transport to nearest private hospitals during emergencies to save lives in the 'golden hour'
Feb 8, 2026 - The State Government has issued important directions regarding ambulance services operated under the National Health Mission (NHM). According to an order issued by the Mission Director, NHM, and ex-officio Secretary of the Medical and Health Department, all ambulance vehicles operating in the State must be effectively deployed during the “golden hour” to ensure patients receive immediate medical assistance in emergencies.
The order clearly states that under Clause 2.2 of the issued RFP, it must be ensured that in emergency situations, patients are provided free ambulance transportation to the nearest private hospital, if desired by the patient or their family. The objective is to ensure timely treatment for critical patients and increase the chances of saving lives.
The directive has been sent to the State Head Rajasthan, Telecommunications Consultants India Limited, EMRI Green Health Services, and other related agencies to ensure there is no negligence in ambulance operations and that the public receives better healthcare services.
