As the administraton of Maharana Bhupal Hospital (MB General Hospital) in Udaipur goes ahead with its revamping and modernisation initiative, another big step was taken this week at the Children's Hospital section. The installation of PICU Central Monitoring systems at the Children’s Hospital have strengthened the facilities.
Children's Hospital Superintendent Dr.RL Suman said that there is a separate building in which 450 beds, ultra-modern nursery with 220 beds, PICU 100 beds, etc. have been provided. Every bed in the hospital is connected to Oxygen supply through a central line while ventilator monitors are all already installed. Recently PICU was made more advanced by installing central monitoring, under which central monitoring of 20 beds can be done continuously for 24 hours through two large TV screens.
This central monitor works with WiFi, in which the facility of checking the patient's vital parameters, especially oxygen saturation, heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, temperature, will be convenient for patients admitted in critical condition. Dr. Suman said that in this system the oxygen saturation is recorded by Masimo patent technology which detects the saturation under all circumstances. The cost of this system is Rs. 1.8 crores.
